Day 3 of the quest was technically still day 2. I had taken a few disappointing bites of the pathetic burrito I ordered from El Portal when my friend called me up to go try Lucha Libre, a popular taco shop in Mission Hills. El Portal went in the garbage, and I headed out. Late on a Sunday the place was pretty packed. The Cali burritos there are enormous, possibly the biggest around. And although it was delicious, I think there was a too-high meat-to-everything-else ratio. It almost seemed like a regular carne asada. Good, sure, but not quite a true California burrito.
And since the burrito was so Goddamn big, I saved half of it for lunch the next day. Day 3 is now official.
